"Everything was at hand before we thought of needing it..."
Alegria-the state of being joyful and happy...an inn that welcomes you by
putting your cares to rest, applying thoughtful attention to the myriad details of your
stay so that you can focus on more important things-the hummingbird out the
window, the fragrance of ocean on the breeze, sunlight across the garden path which
leads to the ocean beach. The spirit of Alegria...simple and restorative pleasures of
rest, relaxation, good food, and natural beauty.

...in the Los Angeles Times, January 16, 2008. Russ Parsons, columnist and author of two books (the best selling, How to Read a French Fry and How to Pick a Peach released in Spring 2007) visited us in August 2007 when blackberries were in season. Eric and Tavi had picked blackberries from the bushes along the beach path and I put them in the scones the morning Russ and his wife were here. I guess he liked 'em!
...in the San Francisco Chronicle, November 15, 2007. 96 Hours columnist, Pia Sarkar, came to us undercover, then wrote a wonderful article with some nice pictures that covered two pages! She was so stealth. We had no idea!
...in the December 2006
issue of Sunset Magazine we were honored to be
featured in the article, Mendocino
Holiday, by Amy Traverso. Click on the links to view the article online
or, if you get the magazine, it’s on page 26. Three pictures, too!
One is of our treasured long time guests, Reggie and Kathleen Davis of
Reno Nevada, who happened to be here when the photographer was here in
November. They graciously agreed to be photographed on our bench swing.
Anna, the cat (attention seeker) joined them.
...on Channel 5’s (San Francisco) "Eye On the Bay". In this episode, the host, Liam Mayclem and his camera man took a trip through the Anderson Valley and up the Mendocino Coast. Click HERE to view the show! Meeting Liam was great. What a nice guy!
...in the new edition of Morning Food by Margaret Fox. Elaine contributed the Blueberry Cream Cheese Coffeecake Recipe to former owner of Café Beaujolais and current Culinary Director of Harvest Market for her new edition of the classic , released by Ten Speed Press in September 2006.
